Break the Barriers offers group fitness classes in a welcoming environment for people of all abilities and fitness levels.
Our friendly fitness class members socialize, encourage, and support each other during workouts, so no need to worry about feeling out of place. *You must be 16 or older to join/participate. If you are 16-17 years old, you must have an adult with you.




Program Details
Break the Barriers offers group fitness classes in a welcoming environment for people of all abilities and fitness levels. Our friendly fitness class members socialize, encourage, and support each other during workouts, so no need to worry about feeling out of place. Fitness classes combine aerobic and strength training in a dynamic and adaptable class. Using chairs, mats, and walls, we adapt and modify workouts to benefit the individual needs of everyone. *You must be 16 or older to join/participate. If you are 16-17 years old, you must have an adult with you.
Water aerobics takes place in spring and summer, utilizing our outdoor heated pool and a large ramp into the pool for easy accessibility. Water aerobics helps build muscle strength and increases movement without joint pain. All ability levels are welcome!

Fees are due at the time of registration. All fees are non refundable and no credit can be given.
- September 1st – December 21st
- $123.75 (includes Fitness Class, Water Aerobics, and access to weight/cardio room)
- $5 Drop-in Pass
- Personal Training: $53/hour
To participate in our programs, first check with our office staff for class availability by calling (559) 432-6292, then fill out the Child Liability Waiver (for students under 18yrs) or the Adult Liability Waiver (for students 18yrs+). Once you have submitted the form, contact the office to secure a space in class. *You must be 16 or older to join/participate. If you are 16-17 years old, you must have an adult with you.
Doctor’s Releases
Sometimes a doctor’s release is required to participate if a student has specific physical or medical conditions such as (but not limited to) heart conditions, epilepsy, or bone and joint issues. Please contact us if you have questions about specific medical conditions.
- Absolutely NO tummies showing
- No low-cut shirts (front or back)
- No spaghetti straps
- No high cut bottoms or short shorts
- All shorts should have at least a 6 inch inseam
- One-piece bathing suits for all female members in water aerobics

Staff Training
We strive to prepare our staff to effectively work with and teach children of all abilities to be in a class with other students. All staff are required to attend workshops where they:
- Trained in an ability awareness class with co-founder, Deby Hergenrader
- Familiarized with ASD
- Learn how to use PECs, a structured schedule, social stories, and the Timed Timer
- Co-teach spectrum classes with a trained staff member
